So, someone needs to be the first. Here is the modification for the Alan 777. But, read this before doing the mod.
It makes the warranty void, the modification is very very small and you can more than very easily bugger up your radio.
Remove the back cover.
Infront of you on the left hand side and running down the side is a silver coloured screening can. Just at the left handside of the metal near the bottom is a jumper, it is called JS1
JS1 OPEN = HIGH POWER PMR BAND 500mW
JS1 SHORT = HIGH POWER PMR BAND 1W
There you go, thats the mod, photos available via email fiorette

Hardly worth the bother is it? Another .5W isn't going to make much
difference to anything. |

Totally correct. Crap radio without the mod and with the mod. Based on the good ole Inteks, infact the newer Inteks like the 2020 and 4040 but still not as good as the 4000L and 4000x.
Not worth the hassle of modding, done a few for friends but waste of time, the difference is ZERO.

Hi, I can´t found the JS1, I see only two cans. One on the left side the other in the center. If i folow the left one and go near the botton is only SMD capacitors and resistors but not JS1.
I need a photo (or glasses).

0.5watt to 1watt, to be honest, this only needs to be done to get past those few extra houses, or hill.
or it just wastes batt power quicker on transmit.
to double the range u need to 4x the power, (just to let people know) |
