The telcom te-157 uses the same processor as the telcom te-150,so after this mod reset the same as the te-150.
Remove the four scews at the front of the unit.
invert the radio and remove front cover from the bottom first(button don't drop out,I found out the hard way)
Remove the two soldered wires and hinge the display board to the right
on the right hand side of the board,under the Tx button there are six linking pads,from top to bottom the links are set as 2 4 and 5 set for pmr,remove link 5 and bridge link 6.
Re-assemble and reset as for the te-150.
You now have the three bands.

I have also got it to run in FRS,by changing these link's

I have successfully completed the mods on one TE-157, I wonder how you managed to run FRS?

I have PMR, KDR and LPD. I notice that it is possible to change bands without turning the rig off and on again.

First turn the rig on as described with the up and the power buttons pressed simultaneously, then instead of selecting PMR, KDR or LPD from the menu select P.K.L, K.L, P.L, OR P.K, which ever bands you wish to use.

eg. P.K.L gives all 3 bands

P.L = PMR & LPD only.

Once selected, press the up button CH will appear. Press the confirm button you will the see that you now have a choice either to change channel or band. Selct "Band", confirm, then choose band with with up/down keys and confirm selection.
Choice depends on your selection of P.K.L, P.L etc.

i just received my wt77 dualband devices. They are about the same as the te150, and i als have this "secret" menu when i turn the device on with the up button pressed. After selecting the bands (pmr, lpd, kdr, or combo) I can select a powersetting: HI or LO. I was wondering whether anyone of you knew what these settings exactly are?
